Explore the underbelly

At London-RIP, we like a good read so we were interested to learn about London Classics. These are reissued novels by some of London's little-known, maverick talents, and reveal a tough, edgy side of the London of the past. The first two London Classics are The Gilt Kid by James Curtis and Night And The City by Gerald Kersh. They  both explore the seedy underbelly of London life in the 1930s - The Gilt Kid is set in the world of petty crooks, pimps and prostitutes, while Soho-set Night And The City is considered one of the greatest of the so-called London low-life novels.

London Classics are published by London Books, which is run by John King of Football Factory fame and Martin Knight, author of Common People. The books promise a treat for Londonophiles and anyone interested in good, exciting stories - so give them a shot when you tear yourself away from the internet.
