Eating & Drinking
All the places where you might have once found a crumb of comfort.
- Food, food, food 2
- Pubs past
- Chchchchanges
- Writing for a site such as London-RIP.com you become incredibly sensitive to the disappearance of some of the landmarks of one's life
- Cosy Caffs
- Cheap and cheerful, a warming, cosy term describing so much that we bought yet one that seems to be largely confined to the past in London.
- Eating Again
- London R.I.P readers send in their tales of lost eateries and ketchup-crusted squeezy tomatoes
- Food, food, food
- Restaurants, bars and cafes we loved that are no longer with us.
- Obscure suburban pubs
- There's not much London RIP likes better than an obscure suburban pub.
- On the farm
- Milk is something we take for granted. It’s the silent partner in the perfect cup of tea, the froth in the cappuccino and the creation of the ideal scrambled egg.
- Poons past
- As a long-time devotee of China Town one of my favourite restaurants was Poon's in Lisle Street. What made this restaurant noteworthy was that it was the last remaining Chinese café, a vestige of a more rough and ready approach to Chinese cuisine.
