Gone shopping
The High Street in every part of London has undergone massive changes in the last 25 years. Sushi is in; hardware is out. Coffee is everywhere but cotton and needles are like gold dust.

London bookshops
Bookshops in London are disappearing thick and fast. North London was something of a bookworm's paradise in days of yore, especially for those of us who fancied ourselves as a bit alternative.
More bookshops
The disappearance of the great left wing bookshops of London is a genuine loss. Two of my favourites were Collets in Charing Cross Road and Central Books in Grays Inn Road.
Record shops
Bookshops and record shops come and go in London - and that includes chains as well as independents. Let London-RIP tell you one such story.

We want to hear what you've got to say..
